Working remotely
How remote projects run
You talk to the developer
No account managers in between. Questions go straight to the person writing the code.
Daily written updates
A short daily note on what changed, what is next and what is blocking. Prefer a different rhythm? We agree one that suits you.
Quote before work starts
We look at the code first, then agree the scope, price and timeline with you.
You own everything
Source code, accounts, domains and store listings stay in your name.
Building apps in East Africa taught me to plan for things that go wrong: slow networks, cheap phones, users who go offline for days. EXP Field Hub, an offline-first app I built for Educate!, is used across East Africa today. I bring the same care to apps built with Lovable, Bolt or Cursor: find the real cause, fix it properly, and get it into the stores.

FAQ
Hiring a remote developer: common questions
What hours do you work, and how much overlap is there with my time zone?
Kampala is on UTC+3 all year. A normal working day there covers most of the European working day and the morning on the US East Coast. With the US West Coast there is little live overlap, so most of that work runs on written updates with a call scheduled when it is needed.
How do I hire you: through Upwork or directly?
Either. On Upwork you get its contract and payment protection, and you can see the Top Rated badge and client reviews before you decide. You can also contact AppsCounty directly through WhatsApp or the contact form for a fixed quote.
How much does a remote developer in Uganda cost?
The current Upwork rate is US$15 an hour. Most fixes and app store projects are quoted as a fixed price after we look at the code, so you know the total before work starts.
Do I need to give you access to my accounts?
Only what the job needs, for example a GitHub repository, a Supabase project or an App Store Connect role. You keep ownership of every account, and you can remove access when the work is done.
Can you work with my existing team?
Yes. Work goes through your repository with normal branches and pull requests, so your team can review every change.
Is your website or app broken, slow or unfinished?
Send us a message describing the problem. We'll look at it and tell you honestly what it takes to fix, or quote you for a new build.
- Free assessment and a clear, fixed quote before work starts
- Direct contact with the developer working on your project
- Full source code and access handed over to you
- Support after launch so fixes stay fixed
